I love this skirt!
The shape is adorable, and will work equally well in Winter as well as in Spring.
The polka-dots seemingly random placement looks like confetti, and the pink stripes remind me of a candy-striper's uniform.
Also, p.s., it's got pockets (love!).
I'd pair it with a plain white shirt (tucked in and slightly bloused out), and a shrunken denim jacket. Sweet flats would complete the ensemble perfectly.

I have recently rediscovered my love of all things Kate Spade.
(Check out that bow!)

She takes simple, 50's style silhouettes and updates them with sassy prints. Clothes and jewelry are adorable without crossing over into being twee or whimsical (shudder). Neck and hemlines are never overly-scandy, so there's so fear of overexposure. While prices are maybe a little beyond my college-student budget, a girl can dream, right?
The jacket, above is the perfect spring-time outer layer. The bow on the back is just to die for and the nautical stripes are divine.
Some more items I'll be dreaming about...
(Be still my heart)

(Perfect for adding some sass to your LBD)

(Love!)

And there are many more where those came from. I could easily spend hundreds of dollars on Ms. Spade's shoes, not to mention clothes and accessories.

Golden Globes 2011: Claire Daines in Calvin Klein Collection

While I obvs love glam and sparkly things, sometimes, simple is fab too.
Just look at how fabulous Claire Daines looks:
Thanks InStyle!

The cut of this dress is flawless, and the color is spectacular with her skin tone. She accessorized nicely too; many actresses would have completely blinged out a dress this simple. While there were two hot colors on the red carpet last night (pink and emerald), Ms. Daines certainly stood out for the better.

Golden Globes 2011: Olivia Wilde in Marchesa

As soon as I saw Olivia Wilde, I knew she would be my pick for best dressed.
Thanks Vulture!
It's a little had to tell in this photo, but the dress is brown, which I love. It's a little more interesting than just black, but still doesn't compete with the glorious jewels cascading down from the bodice. There is nothing I don't love about the look...her hair is the perfect sleek counterpoint to the all out glam of the gown.
Also, check out her Loub's:

Stay tuned for more Golden Globes coverage...

Like Minnie Mouse, I love polka-dots; but they can easily veer into cutesy territory. This cardi keeps things grown-up by shrinking the dots, keeping them organized into a distinct pattern, and fading the colors to navy and white.
The color scheme makes it the perfect extra layer for almost anything: jeans and a solid tee, a skirt and tights or a simple shirtdress, to name just a few. Feeling bold? Try a blouse-y top in a slightly larger pattern in coordinating colors.
It's pretty much perfect...it will transition easily from work to weekend, not to mention season to season.

When I am bored, I love to decorate my future home. I have wiled away many hours paging through magazines and catalogs, selecting items to decorate an imagined home.
This 1950's refrigerator is just about the greatest home appliance I have come across. I love the clean, retro inspired lines, and the unexpected color just pushes it over the edge into adorable territory.
Paired with bright white cabinets, beadboard, and wide stripes, the fridge would be right at home in a seaside home.
